Julia is a Registered Nutritional Therapist and Yoga Teacher with 20 years of clinical experience. She is the Senior Nutrition Lead at The Optimum Health Clinic, an award-winning integrative clinic specialising in fatigue conditions and nervous system dysregulation, and also runs a private practice supporting clients with a wide range of complex and chronic health conditions, as well as challenges around food and eating. She has worked with clients worldwide through online consultations for over a decade, following earlier work in busy clinics on Harley Street and in Hatton Gardens, London.
Julia has extensive experience supporting clients with fatigue, burnout, chronic health conditions and the effects of prolonged stress and trauma, alongside digestive and hormonal health. She also has a particular interest in supporting clients caught in chronic dieting patterns, emotional and disordered eating. She supports clients navigating GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic and Mounjaro, helping them develop sustainable approaches to food and behaviour. Julia holds a Master Practitioner qualification in Eating Disorders with the National Centre for Eating Disorders.
At the heart of Julia’s work is helping clients develop greater self-knowledge, by understanding their own body, its signals and what it needs to thrive. She brings together nutrition science, functional testing, diet and lifestyle guidance, and, where appropriate, personalised nutritional supplementation. Functional testing can sometimes help to bring meaning and context to symptoms that may otherwise feel random, confusing or unpredictable, helping clients explore possible underlying factors and find a clearer way forward.
Julia’s work also explores the relationship between nutrition, the body and our inner experience. She is particularly interested in interoception, which is our ability to sense and understand the signals coming from within our bodies, and in helping clients reconnect with their own hunger, fullness, preferences and other internal cues. Rather than relying on rigid diet rules or conflicting nutritional advice, she supports clients to develop a more trusting and intuitive relationship with food and their body.
Her approach is warm, compassionate and highly personalised. She believes there is no single way of eating that is right for everyone, and works with each client to understand what their body, health and life need at that particular time. Where appropriate, she may also draw on meditation practices and embodied awareness to help clients connect more deeply with themselves and their bodies.
Ultimately, Julia’s work is about helping clients move beyond simply knowing what they ‘should’ eat, and towards developing the awareness, confidence and self-trust to understand what genuinely supports their wellbeing, reconnecting with their body, their relationship with food, and a deeper sense of themselves, so that they can thrive.
