Nikkie's work brings together emotional and stress-focused support with a whole person view of health. By looking at how mind and body interact, people with chronic ill health can understand what's truly happening within their system, find the right support at the right time, and reconnect with their energy and quality of life.
She works with clients in two ways:
1. As a sounding board, helping them find root causes of their ill health, navigate the limits of the traditional health system and connect with reputable, trustworthy alternative options.
2. As a supportive guide, helping people find and deal with emotional and stress burdens, working directly with emotional roots and triggers that often sit underneath physical symptoms.
Since the burden of carers often goes unnoticed, Nikkie also provides a safe space for carers to focus on their needs
This is personal for Nikkie as well as professional. Diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome at 20, she spent years piecing together the causes behind her own illness — genetics, epigenetics, allergies, nutritional deficiencies, high stress and trauma among them. It's an experience that shapes how she works with clients today: she knows how complex the picture can be, and how much it matters to have someone who understands that in your corner.
Her approach rests on a simple belief: that health improves when we understand and live in harmony with our own mind, body and spirit. She holds this heart-centred view alongside a grounded understanding of the body that comes from her background in physiotherapy, specialist training in mind-body techniques and professional experience in chronic ill health.
Nikkie has a particular interest in childhood trauma, chronic and complex stress, and often works with fatigue, pain and hypermobility syndromes. She is driven by a strong belief that people with chronic illness deserve the same quality of care, respect and collaboration that those with acute illness often receive.
Her career in health began straight out of school, first training as a physiotherapist in the UK and then managing the operational running of complex disability services in an Oxfordshire hospital within the UK's National Health Service - while completing a Masters of Science in Health and Public Policy. She then moved into supporting people with complex physical conditions and spent 10 years working at, teaching for and representing the award winning Optimum Health Clinic. She has been in private practice for the last 5 years.
She is an Advanced Practitioner in EFT, a hypnotherapist, life coach and NLP practitioner and is a member of the professional body EFT International.
